Camp Director
Do you have experience running a camp, school, or similar program? Have passion for working with children? You might be the perfect candidate for a camp director job at a Wow! Science Camp®.
The camp director is responsible for the overall operation of a camp. The director plans, directs, and supervises all camp programs and staff. Specific responsibilities are as follows:
- Implement camp’s mission and goals.
- Carry out the daily operation of camp (develop routines, schedules, and procedures for camp operation).
- Enforce policies and procedures.
- Partner with camp administrator to hire and train staff.
- Partner with camp administrator to assign staff and projects.
- Supervise and evaluate staff and operations.
- Supervise office procedures, including opening and closing procedures for staff and campers.
- Order (or supervise the ordering and distribution of) food, supplies, and equipment.
- Implement all safety and security procedures to ensure safety of campers, staff, and property.
- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies at camp site and on field trips.
- Develop and maintain a medical program for the camp.
- Collect, track, and report on payments collected at camp site.
- Manage the camp budget.
- Prepare an evaluation and summary of current season, including inventories, staff evaluations, and camper reports, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Provide an atmosphere that reinforces the camp’s core values.
Required skills and experience:
- Minimum of two seasons of camp administrative experience (e.g., camp director or administrator, head counselor, or unit leader)
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Bachelor’s degree
- Ability to plan, organize, and effectively carry out daily programs
Helpful skills and experience:
- Running a school or other youth programs
- Teaching experience
- Science background

General Counselor
If you are a science or technology teacher or training to become one, and if you are passionate about teaching children to embrace science, the general counselor job at Wow! Science Camp® might be a great experience for you this summer. The general counselor is primarily responsible for leading science experiments and projects daily. The general counselor teaches math, etiquette, and money-management lessons. He or she also serves as chaperone on field trips.
Specific responsibilities:
- Embody and implement the mission, goals, and core values of Wow! Science Camp®.
- Guide assigned groups and individual campers in participating successfully in all aspects of camp activities.
- Carry out established roles for supervising camper health.
- Carry out established roles for enforcing camp safety regulations.
- Develop unit activity plans with participants as appropriate.
- Deliver camp’s lesson plans.
- Serve as chaperone on field trips.
- Supervise all assigned aspects of the campers' day, including classroom clean-up, meal times, projects, and preparation for end of day.
- Instruct campers in emergency procedures such as fire drills, evacuating the building, etc.
- Help campers plan their participation in camp-wide programs, special events, and activities.
- Identify and address specific needs of campers.
- Promote teamwork, respect, and an overall healthy atmosphere.
Essential skills and experience:
- Minimum of 4-year college degree, preferably in the science, technology, engineering or math
- Minimum of one year teaching, mentoring, or tutoring experience
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Helpful skills and experience:
- Prior experience as a camp counselor
- Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and self-control
- Desire and ability to work with children

Assistant Counselor
Are you a science, engineering, technology, or math major looking for a great internship opportunity? We offer eight weeks of numerous science projects and exciting field trips. Put your talent to use by working with a general counselor and campers to demonstrate why every young person should be excited about science.
Specific responsibilities:
- Work with general counselor to set up each science project.
- Assist in coordinating other camp activities and plans.
- Participate in weekly program evaluations.
- Conduct daily check of program area and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and good repair.
- Submit orders for equipment and supplies when needed, with approval of camp director, ensuring timely arrival of materials.
- Teach and monitor proper use of equipment.
- Assist in conducting initial and end-of-season inventory, storing equipment and keeping it in good condition.
- Assist in packing all materials and supplies when season ends.
- Serve as chaperone on field trips.
Essential skills and experience:
- Desire and ability to work with children
- Ability to accept guidance and supervision
- Ability to teach skills to campers of all ages
- Good character, integrity, adaptability, enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and self-control
- Minimum of high school diploma
- At least eighteen years of age
Helpful skills and experience:
- One to two years’ experience as a camp assistant
The Assistant Counselor job is available at these locations: Cherry Hill, Blackwood, East Windsor locations in New Jersey; Philadelphia, PA; and Wilmington, DE.
Customer Service Representative
- attract potential customers by answering product and service questions;
- suggest information about other products and services that we offer;
- relay customer request to appropriate staff and follow through to ensure customers receive a timely response;
- open customer accounts by recording account information;
- maintain customer records by updating account information;
- resolve product or service problems by clarifying the customer's complaint, determining the cause of the problem, selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem, expediting correction or adjustment, and following up to ensure resolution;
- maintain financial records by processing customer registration and enrollment;
- recommend potential products or services to management by collecting customer information and analyzing customer needs;
- prepare product or service reports by collecting and analyzing customer information;
- contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Excellent customer service skills that demonstrate highest level of professionalism
- Listening, telephone, documentation, and problem resolution skills
- Ideal candidate must be organized, responsive and willing to learn our service offerings and approach

Wow! Science Camp® welcomes families of campers, retirees, college students, and other individuals who support our mission and core values and have a desire to work with children to volunteer at our camp. You can volunteer as a chaperone on field trips or a helper at the camp. You can assist with coordinating lunch, co-supervising campers during breaks, making copies during lessons, or providing supplies to classrooms.
